Heart Longings

Do you know that feeling?
That feeling where somewhere deep inside your heart you are panting, longing, you are filled with this aching for something, so much so that your heart physically aches?
Do you know that feeling?
From the pit of your stomach you can feel the literal hunger gnawing, eating you away, you can feel the emptiness of the pit of it within, and everything in you screams for filling?
Longing, hungry, grasping, needy, waiting – is that your heart?
We are all in our own way longing, hungry, grasping, needy, and our hearts each and all lie in wait for something.

“Wait on the LORD: be of good courage, and He shall strengthen thine heart: wait, I say, on the LORD.”
(Psalm 27:14)

From Genesis to Revelation, God knows what He’s doing. Trust Him and have courage, dear heart, whatever your waiting be. Remember all those before you in the Bible – we’re supposed to remember, but we don’t. These people, these examples and their stories, all these precious promises, these are not dead! They are for us! They are for us wherever we are, whatever we are, right now! Because we can experience the miracles and the wonder and the heart and spirit fillings that these people in the Bible once did, too!
Have courage and lift up your head – we don’t know what God is doing. And you just might find when you step out in faith and walk with Him that He is filling your heart longings.
Wait on Him, and have courage, He will strengthen you heart. And He will fill your deepest hunger with the answer of Himself.

“O fear the LORD, ye His saints: for there is no want to them that fear Him.
The young lions do lack, and suffer hunger: but they that seek the LORD shall not want any good thing.”
(Psalm 34:9+10)

“For the LORD God is a sun and shield: the LORD will give grace and glory: no good thing will He withhold from them that walk uprightly.”
(Psalm 84:11)
